Chiddingly school pond has been developed over the last two years to provide a large natural habitat where children can learn about wildlife safely. Our pond contains many plants and wildlife including rare Great Crested Newts and we believe that not only should we be doing everything to help preserve these beautiful creatures but our pupils should be given every opportunity to learn about them. The pond area also includes our large outdoor classroom which has been specially built to provide outdoor learning in any capacity. The area next to the outdoor classroom is also home to our 10 chickens who live on site. They have their own special enclosure and the children love going to visit them! The pupils also had the privilege of naming them and we have Princess Layer, Tyrannosaurus Pecks, Kentucky, Nugget, Dipsy, Theresa Cluck, Chicklet, Fuzzy, Chickie Chick and Captain Cluck!
